Importance of Monsoons

Rains are of great importance for India's Economy, specially its agriculture industry. Since India does not have any river linkage system, people suffer with natural calamities like floods and drought resulting in destruction of crops. It is due to this that Indian farmers are completely dependent on monsoon showers. Image
By: Kartikeya Semwal Conventional submarine  Indian Navy is the world’s 7 th largest navy in the world with 294 warships. While our biggest enemy China is ranked 2 nd largest with 730 warships of different types. This is a cause of concern as we aren’t even half of our enemy. In the last 1 decade, under Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji & Raksha mantri Shri Rajnath Singh ji, our navy has added many warships to its fleet, yet a lot more needs to be done. China has a large number of different types of submarines ranging from conventional to nuclear. The advantage that they have is that they are building their own submarines & that too, at a fast pace. Till now, none of these countries has an operational Aircraft Carrier (AC). Instead, they operate heli-carriers and/or ALS (Amphibious Landing Ships). But more than them, India feels the immediate need of operating at least 3 Aircraft Carriers (ACs). Currently, the Indian Navy has a solo AC called INS Vikramaditya, a 44,000-tonne behemoth brought from Russia. By 2022, India will get its 2 nd AC which is its own indigenous AC called INS Vikrant; a 45,000-tonne ship. Now since India has a vast coastline to guard, it needs 1 AC fleet to guard its western coasts & another to guard its eastern coast. INS Vikramaditya in battle mode. Guarding the western coast is easy when compared to the eastern coast as our foe Pakist...
