Why India needs Israel & US?

India, a developing nation moving forward to become a developed one; shares its borders with 2 nations that are considered as threat to its sovereignty- namely China and Pakistan. Throughout the time, India faces a threat of fighting a two-front war on any given day with its twin neighbors.
In order to deal with them effectively, India needs help of Israel and US in terms of weapons and technologically superior defense systems; that will help it to win the war. Israel has recently signed a deal with India to provide it with its latest Barak-8 missile defense system and armed UAV Heron TP. Israel will also provide India with close to 800 anti-tank missiles named ‘Spike’. Already, India is using AWACS early warning airborne missile defense system to guard its borders. 


US is equally important for providing high tech weapons and systems for India. US has already provided C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft and will also be providing India with Apache attack helicopters, M-777 ultra-light howitzers and Chinook heavy lift helicopters for Indian armed forces. All these are modern and high-tech and will greatly increase India’s muscle power against its unfriendly neighbors. 


Besides, US Company Lockheed Martin will also be jointly manufacturing the latest version of its F-16 fighter jet called ‘Block 70’. The company will build the fighter with India’s Tata Advanced Systems Ltd. (TASL). This deal is of utmost importance for the Indian Air force (IAF) which needs at least 200-250 fighter jets in near future to replace its Mig- 21, 23 and 27 fighters.
Thus, India needs to maintain good strategic and friendly relations with both- Israel and US.

Indian Army gearing for major Artillery Upgrade By- Kartikeya Semwal Indian Army has been a recognized force across the world. With changing scenarios across the borders and keeping its eastern neighbour in mind, Indian Army is gearing up for a major upgrade of its artillery units. Recently it had brought 100 K9-Vajra self-propelled artillery guns that are of 155*52 calibre. It is going to repeat this order & buy another batch of 100 similar guns with modifications for cold weather & low temperature during winters. K-9 Vajra  Indian Army is also modifying its 21 regiments of 135*45 mm Sharang guns to 155*45 mm. 6 regiments have already been modified while the remaining 15 will be modified in the next 5 years. Rebuilding IAF for future wars: More Rafels, Tejas Mk-2, AMCA needed

  Indian Airforce has played an important role in guarding India for decades. From time to time, it has showcased its importance ranging from Indo-Pak wars to Bangladesh’s independence war to Kargil war. A few years back, IAF’s prowess could also be seen through Balakot Surgical Strike that was done in POK to destroy terrorist training camps. But with passage of time, IAF’s fighter squadrons have gone down. Against the required 42 squads, IAF has only 32 squads which is a cause of concern keeping our two unfriendly neighbours China & Pakistan in mind. IAF was supposed to acquire over 100 new fighter jets over a decade ago but lack of signing of deal & the long new fighter jet assessment process resulted in not acquiring any new jets in large numbers.
